Willmore Writes:
Disturbed – Decadence
Okay before you judge me for my first song, I know, I know, Disturbed is a vibe shift, but hear me out! Sometimes energy isn’t about happy sunshine; it’s about raw, untamed power. That chugging guitar riff and David Draiman’s iconic “Oh-ah-ah-ah-ah!” is like an adrenaline shot straight to the heart. If I am ever to drive a fast car at over 160 miles per hour, I know which song I am bumping to. It’s for when you need to feel like a boss walking into a meeting, or when you’re on a long drive and need to scream-sing into the void to stay awake. It’s cathartic, chaotic energy.
Sia – Move Your Body
This one is a no-brainer. The title is literally a command, and my body has no choice but to obey. It’s the musical equivalent of a double-shot of espresso. That pulsing beat injects something into my veins, telling me I can absolutely conquer that pile of laundry or at least dance aggressively while ignoring it. It’s pure, unadulterated power-pop that makes you feel like you’re in your own montage.
Uncle Waffles – Zenzele
And because I have taste, I had to add some Amapiano fire with “ZENZELE” by Uncle Waffles. If “Move Your Body” is a command, “Zenzele” is an invitation to a groove you never want to leave. That log-drum beat is infectious. It doesn’t demand your energy so much as it gently pulls it out of you, one hypnotic rhythm at a time. This is the song that starts with a head nod and ends with you somehow knowing dance moves you never learned. It’s pure, joyful, effortless energy.
Cameo – Candy
Finally, as a little palette cleanser and a wash down. I threw in “Candy” by Cameo. Come on. The moment that funky, iconic bassline and the “Ow!” hits, you’re transported. It’s impossible to hear this and not do at least a little shoulder dance or something. It’s a classic for a reason—it’s fun, it’s flirty, and it just makes you feel cool. This is the energy of strutting down the street in your best outfit for no reason at all.
Jenna Writes:
These are the songs that get me up and moving even when I’m completely drained. No matter how tired I am, something about these tracks just flips a switch and I feel like I have to get up and move. It’s impossible to sit still when “Blackout” by Breathe Carolina comes on, and Charli’s energy? It’s like she transfers it straight to me. This playlist is my perfect pick me up that i’d take any day over a cup of coffee. These are the songs that get my heart racing and my body moving — even when I’m running on empty. The high BPM, the beats, the bass — it’s like they plug me back into the world. They remind me that sometimes the fastest way to find your spark is to move first and let the feeling catch up later.

Andie Writes:
When I saw this prompt, I immediately thought of “loud” because for me, loud songs automatically give me energy, even if the lyrics aren’t all happy haha I then opened this old “Energy” playlist and was taken back to such fun times! I narrowed it down to three: If You Wanna by The Vaccines, Saturday Night’s Alright by Elton John, and Common People by Pulp. Just listening to these after a long time was the energy push I needed!!! What I LOVED the most was how each of these tracks start off. It’s such a loud and interesting build up, most probably why it got me sooo excited and made me feel like getting up to move. The energy level is addicting and it just fit perfectly in this list!
