Where To Start With Terri Green on Spotify
The Terri Green Project (TGP) is back with Sneaking Out, Terri’s unique vocal caresses the tune, as Torsten’s slick keys and 70s infused string hits were complimented by the featured performance of the iconic horn formation, THE N.W.O. Horns’ and the slick guitar solo of Fountain Burnett. There’s a more classic soulful version and a remix on the EP from Barcelona based producer Peter Brown
The Hoof caught up with Terri for a chat
What’s the inspiration behind the record and the soulful sound you have created.
This was a pure dream come true, I was able to do what i wanted to do since 1997, make soul records. This was unapologetically the way I wanted it to be. I made enough top 100 stuff, more than 20 and counting top 100 tracks in various countries, I yearned for this space.
Tell us about a classic track, something that has inspired you or just one you love and never get sick of listening to.
Rainy days and Mondays, Karen Carpenter is just awesome, it’s warm, real and passionate, I always loved this band and wanted to have that same vocal power.
Can you recommend any new music, something that you have just discovered or are just really digging at the moment.
I love the UK artist Jaz Karis.. she is one of my favorites and we talk from time to time on insta, I play her ‘Doubt my Love’ track every time I take my walk.
I listen to old music that’s not on the radio now.. learn more about why we do what we do and not just judge and say we need to be this or that, reach back and understand the greats, I was just talking to H. B Barnum, MD for Aretha Franklin a true legend and so much knowledge.. priceless.
Song selected by the HoofHow do you use social media to grow your audience, how can a new fan help you on social media, is there a hashtag you use, do you round to comments
I post, I’m not a fan but I do it, I like to speak with fans and see what
How do you connect with your audience – email, social media, PR firms, etc
Social media is as close as many can get to fans from all over the globe so it gives them a better idea of what you are doing and what’s happening much faster.. its a great tool.
Do you think playlists are important – what’s the future of the playlist, can you let us about any other playlists you admire or just really digging at the minute.
Playlists are important but too often the curators, may not have access to diverse projects and they never get the love they deserve.
What’s best, 10k streams on Spotify or 10 albums sold on Bandcamp? Why?
Well 65 million streams was a big amount for me so if you own the rights and stream that much it’s a win win.
How have you kept busy during the last year has the pandemic stifled your creativity or the free time allowed you to experiment more.
Writing, producing, strategizing and making connections. i have been nonstop.. didnt want to fall into that hole.
What does 2021 look like for the band, your hope and dreams, exciting future plans, new releases, tours or gigs
