About this Playlist
The sound of daytime disco, it’s not yet another sub genre of dance, although music writers have been pushing the poolside sound for some time, it’s just plain old dance music, maybe a lower BPM or not a in-your-face house sound. Music for poolside chilling, BBQ’s or cookouts with friends, alcohol filled garden parties, anything really that needs something to get you in the mood for going out but not quite full on race mode.
There are many examples of this sound over the last few years and some influential artists, like Poolside and Crazy P creating this sound, most of the music isn’t made to fit a genre and would sound just as good in a dance playlist or more pop or indie list, but hopefully the tracks I’ve selected sit well together to set a mood, that’s all I’m trying to do with the collection, sequenced with Spotify’s 14 second crossfade so don’t expect Carl Cox style transitions but hopefully good enough for you to invite your friends to next party.
