About this Playlist
I got my first guitar and wrote my first song at the age of four. Ever since I was a young boy, I have loved songs that passionate and energetic, emotionally true yet clever and well crafted. That’s what I listen to, and those are the kinds of songs I try to write as well.
My playlist embraces classic pop rock tunes from Sixties icons such as The Beatles and The Kinks, through the Seventies and groundbreaking bands such as Talking Heads and Blondie, New Wave bands such as The Clash, The Police, XTC and Squeeze, and some of the best pop rock songwriters from that era such as Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Joe Jackson and Graham Parker as well as modern day masters such as Ed Sheeran.
I dive into the American playbook as well, with passionate songs by Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Counting Crows, The Wallflowers, Wilco and Dave Matthews.
Sprinkled throughout are a few tracks by yours truly as well as a few choices by lesser-known artists that may seem surprising but fit right into the energetic, upbeat vibe of the playlist.
