Molly from USA, Joshua from UAE and Andrew from Scotland trade some rock ‘n roll – we drop three tracks each and take it in turns all the way to 27. You can’t get more classic than this!
Joshua: Hey guys. Started off the playlist with a solid three including “We Will Rock You, Seven Nation Army and I love Rock n Roll”. Really pumped to see how this playlist turns out.
Andrew: So I can’t resist putting in the tracks I know I would love to see at the gig. Thunderstruck purely because it is the most epic opening to a gig I’ve ever seen – and that was on Youtube – god only knows what it was like at the actual gig – this is from the River Plate – one day I’d love to go see a rock show at the River Plate – apparently the Argentinians go insane ;-p. Take Me Out for Wendi ‘cos it’s possibly her favorite song and then I went for Somebody Told Me over Mr. Brightside – ‘cos – that might have been a little too on the nose ;-p
Molly: Andrew, you stole my go-to of Thunderstruck, lol, such a classic! I added my 3 tracks. Foo Fighters are the only ones from my 1st three that I’ve actually seen in concert, going to see them again in August. If I were to ever see Aerosmith and Mumford and Sons I’d imagine the likelihood of them performing Dream On and Babel would be quite high. Excited for the next tracks from you both!
Joshua: My picks were primarily based on simple chants/sounds (nananana, woohoo) that can be done by large choruses to recreate that arena like feel. So I went with Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis, Nanananana by My Chemical romance and to top it off with Song 2 by Blur.
Andrew: Alright -we’re cooking ;-p. Classic rock anthems are just so much to play with ;-p. I was thinking of the hard transition at the end of song 2 and thinking what would be the most “forgiving” intro and – well – I think it worked rather well ;-p. leapiong back to the 60’s for some Steppenwolf which just never seems to age and then back up to the 90’s for the inimitable Lenny Kravitz ;-ppp. You’re up Molly
Molly: And I’m back! Love your tracks, Andrew. They inspired me to take a deep dive into some classics that I would have loved to see back in the day. You can’t go wrong with Led Zeppelin’s Rock and Roll, picturing Robert Plant traipsing around the stage in his open shirt and skinny jeans. Which took me to another jean-wearing rocker, The Boss. And finally rounded out with Should I Stay or Should I Go from The Clash.
Joshua: What a list of rock n roll bangers! This lineup is just so good. I can listen to this on loop for hours.
Adding to the mix is interestingly becoming more tricky. I decided to go with two icons, Bon Jovi and George Thorogood, followed by an underrated Australian band “Jet”.
Andrew: I’ve gone with the flow and added a couple of classics from my teen years but I’m pretty sure people are still singing these ones today!
Molly: I added Don’t Get Me Wrong by the Pretenders as I just saw them play a couple weeks ago. Chrissie Hynde was hilarious, she said they were the Foo Fighter’s sloppy seconds since they opened for them. Obviously Pretenders are legendary! Sadly I have never seen the Rolling Stones live, but no arena rock list is worth anything without the Stones. And last I went with The Steve Miller Band. They were my first concert as a high schooler, saw them at Irvine Meadows, and always loved The Joker.

About the Curators
Joshua Thomas
Hi there, I'm Joshua. I have been listening to songs for longer than I can remember. It has really been an integral part of my life. As a 2000s kid, I grew up listening to a lot of alt rock, pop punk and nu metal. I have come a long way since then, listening to a wide array of music including (but not limited to) synthwave, tropical house, lofi and prog rock. I wish to discover more amazing music and share it to the world.
I have always believed that music is a medium that can be used to connect and inspire people. It is a unique form of self expression which can move everyone. For me personally, it's a really special bond/connection that makes me who I am. So, I certainly think that the songs a person listens to says a lot about their personality.
I have also tested the waters and tried making some compositions myself. I wouldn't say it sounds amazing but if you are interested, take a look at my soundcloud:

Thank you for reading my profile. Have a wonderful day :)

I was born and raised in Southern California. My first musical memories were listening to Donna Summers records in my living room on repeat and plunking out Heart and Soul on our untuned piano. Flash forward to the age of iPods where my friends and I would create massive playlists for every occasion in our carefree lives. I still treasure these playlists and always have a big smile when I hear them. After a long career of teaching elementary school I took a hiatus to raise my family and now work as a digital marketer, which led me to my friendship with Andrew who became my valued mentor. I have a great love of music simply because it moves my soul. If you're looking for help with your digital presence - you can learn more about my marketing business here. Happy listening!
