About this Playlist
The songs I’d immediately put in a mixtape if I was falling in, out…or even in between love– but! in the ‘90s. This playlist is also a tribute to all the old tracks that stuck with me. Growing up with these tracks from my parents always unlocks some sort of memory each time I listen to it. I’m sure, to some of you listeners out there, this playlist may also give you some familiarity— and that’s one of the best feelings.
The tracks in this list range from the late ‘70s all the way up to 1993. There’s something about tracks that were produced before the 2000s that produce such a classic and warm feeling. It’s all about the natural instruments, raw vocals, and not to mention, the absolutely relatable lyrics even to this day! My inspiration for the rest of the tracks was “A Letter To Elise,” by The Cure. The moment I stumbled upon the track after a long time, I knew I should make a playlist out of it.
If you listen to the playlist from the first track consecutively to the next, it’ll give a musical journey of wavy to full-on and light guitar, all the way to subtle tones and lyrics with piano. The meaning of love also switches per track and that’s to make you, the listener, realize all sides of what love is, making it relatable as possible.
Hopefully, this playlist helps you reminisce about the times before and you end up falling in love with the moment and the track that it resembles. It’s Different tracks from different eras– amazing how one concept can be so beautifully explained through the sounds of music! Listen away!
