When Maria and I planned to do this Playlist together, she mentioned that “emo/metal/punk” are the genres she has the least experience in, so naturally I wanted to show her my favorite artists from those genres and was excited to see what songs Maria would add. The result is this beautiful mix from Indie to Metalcore and everything in between!

Maria Fish

Emerging from a life shaped by islands - a spirited sanctuary to be grown from - where reflection is gathered in the compost and propagated in papaya seeds. I find the deepest joy in being a steward of sound and of soil. Much like a Community Garden - I am hoping to invoke a sense of curiosity, intention, playfulness and mindfulness into the way we cultivate and connect through song. You can find me in the redwoods, dancing in the mountains, sipping on nettle tea, planting sweet peas and fava beans, walking endlessly, listening endlessly and sharing the gift of music to those who choose to listen.

Music has been there for me my entire life and I absolutely love sharing new music I find by deep diving spotify multiple hours a day. Since all of my friends kinda do the same my music taste grew into this huge mix of all kinds of genres, bands and artists. I think music is the greatest tool to express your feelings to the world and creating playlists to give your daily life some kind of a soundtrack helps to deal or highlight with whatever is going on.
