The act of creation is amazing,
I doubt many people look at it and sneer.
In order for something to come into existence,
You have to start,
You have to begin.
There’s something so special about a beginning,
It’s the hope.
The sheer unadulterated, uncynical optimism for the nascent creation,
Before it meets the world and is unavoidably shaped.
If I was sitting down to write a manuscript - to write anything really - I would put this track on.
I would set my environment - clear my decks - put the phone on silent and make sure I was sitting comfortably.
I would take a deep breath,
Then press play.
I would feed on the tones.
I would drink in the complexity and let it fill me with enthusiasm for the future,
For the future of the idea,
For the future of the world.
