A few weeks ago, doing the podcast for the Canadian Cannabis Tourism Alliance. I met Marcela Ikeda – half Brazilian, half Japanese – a chef. We got into two of my favourite subjects: food and cannabis. We vibed on the fellowshipping aspect they share – very social, brings people closer. She told me about a man in Japan, not quite elderly, who wrote a book about better living through cannabis for the Japanese. I loved knowing we’re all connected by this plant and by the desire to be empathetic and good people. It felt like a wire inside me lit – a tungsten fuse moment.
Honestly, I feel most alive talking with people who share that frequency. It’s not about getting high – I haven’t smoked in months – it’s the implicit understanding. Finding people you can go through cycles with and they don’t change on you – they stay the same person. That’s a wonderful feeling. Those moments make me feel the most alive.
This article is part of The Human Collective. Each week we take a prompt and create a playlist and accompanying articles. This week we’re wondering when was the last time you felt fully alive? Check out the playlist: Songs That Make You Feel Alive Learn more about The Human Collective here.
