The last time I felt fully alive wasn’t something grand. It was a simple drive home. After a night out with friends, I found myself on an empty highway, the city skyline glowing in the distance. The night air rushed in through the open window as I turned the volume all the way up and screamed along to whatever was playing on my Late Night Vibes playlist (most likely ‘87 Stingray’).
It felt like that scene in The Perks of Being a Wallflower. You know the one? When the music and the moment is just right. I’m so present that I forget about everything else. Nothing mattered except being there, fully present, completely free. That was living.
It reminded me to slow down and enjoy the moment that felt like really living. This is just the perfect way to describe THAT feeling.
This article is part of The Human Collective. Each week we take a prompt and create a playlist and accompanying articles. This week we’re wondering when was the last time you felt fully alive? Check out the playlist: Songs That Make You Feel Alive Learn more about The Human Collective here.
