I realize that I can't just run with one track from this stunning album - so in the spirit of helping you flow into your writing - here's a second song from Flow The Group.
It's the fourth track on the album and normally follows behind our featured track of the month - Flow. Whereas Flow is all underlying energy and movement - Free Ascent is all about space, time, pause for thought and stunning sonic landscapes.
It's the production on this album that grabs you - doesn't matter if you're in the library with shitty earbuds or at home wearing studio monitors - everything comes through and it's so beautifully balanced. It really is like a soothing bath for your ears - and you can use that idea - of being soothed and calmed to help you out.
You know when the panic is starting to rise - when you look at how much you have to do and you haven't even started, and people keep stealing your time and when you finally sit down there's a million things to do and worry about and, and, and and....
Free Ascent is your friend.
Free Ascent is the auditory tool you can use to create a safe space for yourself, where you can allow all those worries to lift off and disappear skyward - where you can be calm and work out how to move forward. Listen to it for as long as you need to get prepared and ready - then maybe look for something a little more energetic.
We highly recommend the track Flow ;-)
Perfect Essay Writing Music: Flow by FLOW
The Essay Writing playlist is sponsored this month by New Age music group FLOW – Will Ackerman, Fiona Joy, Lawrence Blatt and Jeff Oster.
If you're looking for the perfect instrumental soundtrack to write to this is a great album to work with. While the eponymous title track is Andrew's personal favorite the entire album is worth streaming from beginning to end.

About the Curator: Andrew McCluskey
The first visual memory I have is that of the white upright piano in Singapore, Hell and the dark forces lived at the bottom, Heaven and the Angels at the top. They would play battles through my fingers and I was hooked.
Although I've always played, I haven't always been a musician. Most of my twenties were spent working with people, buying and selling and learning how the world works. It was in my thirties that I came to America and focused on music and began to develop music2work2.

But as I’ve moved from ideation to manifestation, the energy of the playlist needed to change – solo piano is good for thinking – but 8 minutes of 130 bpm edm is great for getting things down

I’ve known for a while that the feel of the list was going to change – while piano instrumentals are perfect for reflection and ideation – at some point you need some energetic input to get your fingers moving.
