Falling to Believe – Doug Tuttle

Sometimes we need a break, a break from work, school, the internet or even a relationship. Our bonds can strengthen when we are deprived and we can look at our lives in a new light. Doug Tuttle keeps this song so simple for one reason, because life is simple…

Confident In Your Strength – Becky Green

Wonderful piano patterns, mixed up with a celestial voice and a little electronic pads. Great track to take your soul even higher then the plane you’re sitting in.

Body – Class Jordan

This song is a subtle pulse, like the feeling of a song from outside the club you’re waiting to get into. This is the gaze of a stranger who wants your attention, the sway of her hips, the way her eyes don’t leave your lips. This song is smooth and cold, a couple shots too many, the spin of the exit sign as you leave with the girl who’s had her eyes on you…

Eyes On You – Millie Turner

Turner…

24K Magic – Bruno Mars

And here we have little MJ’s prospect. Amazing talents on almost everything, Top 40’s machine (he lives on those charts), make you feel there’s still a chance on pop music and of course does a lot of what the king used to do which is completely respectable.

312 – DJ R3dline

This week’s track comes from DJ/Producer DJ R3dline. The single is called 312. DJ R3dline has played music festivals such as EDC Orlando, Lollapalooza, Riot Fest and Outside Lands.

coffee – Miguel

“Fly, funkadelic, intergalactic-hip-hop-meets-sexy-orgasmic crazy, dope shit”.

That’s how Miguel once labeled his music, and honestly, there’s probably no better description for our track this week. “Coffee” (originally called “Coffee (Fucking)” was the lead single of the R&B singer’s 2015 album, Wildheart.

Political Puppets – Second Hand Arms Dealer

From the city of Bristol’s vibrant music scene comes an unequivocal call for revolution from a guitar rock trio steeped in rage: “We don’t have to accept what our democracy’s become,” shouts frontman and bassist Joe Spurrell of Second Hand Arms Dealer. “Let’s Revolt now, before we’re smouldering ashes / The 1% cannot stand up to the masses”.

Rock your body – Burna Boy

Burna Boy never disappoints on a track it’s almost scary at this point!

I really love the production on this track and the beat stayed stuck in my head for days after listening to it for the first time.  Ghanian-UK producer Julz really went in on this production and deserves so much credit.

Law – Richard Spaven

Richard Spaven is a fantastic drummer from London, UK and this track is a single from his album “The Self”. I first encountered this track on Youtube when Spaven did a live performance version on Meinl Cymbals’ channel. If you have never checked out Youtube channels of drum manufacturers, you are in for a treat – I have discovered some amazing music through their gear videos.

All It’s Done – Elastic Band

Do you remember a time when music was interesting, psychedelic and yet, at the same time fun? It’s hard, isn’t it? Perhaps because this marriage of psychedelia and fun is not that common – at least not anymore. You’d have to go back to the music made in the late sixties or early seventies to find a larger pool of it relatively easily. By the way, if you do, check out tracks such as Procol Harum’s “Good Captain Clack” or “Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!” by the Beatles, as they are fantastic songs and productions. And if you don’t much like the music made in the sixties, don’t worry, there is another way to find out what I am talking about. Just google the Spanish Elastic Band’s fantastic single “All It’s Done” and give it a spin.

Elastic Band’s press release characterizes the group like this:

Their songs are sonic collages that use daring tricks as a means to intertwine decades, genres, trends and frequencies. This is done to reach unexpected musical destinations. With songs that could style-wise be described as leftovers from the 20th century, this duo is attempting to create 21st century pop. Their new album celebrates love, friendship and positive attitude, as reflected by the cover by Camille Perkins.

Weak – AJR

This week’s track is a fun one submitted by Lesley Capul, a fan of the band!

I’d love to share what she had to say about the song because I think she’s really dropped some wisdom here:

“As a person just starting out in their 20’s and currently in college at the time of writing this, I’m coming to a point in my life where our choices in life really make an impact on the future. People say that college is a time of exploration, discovery, and self-growth, but in that process, we may stumble and make mistakes. And honestly, that’s okay. “Weak” focuses on that. It doesn’t just talk about the temptations in life, but an acceptance about giving into them, even when you know you shouldn’t. I’d even go as far to say that it embraces that struggle. And I believe everyone’s been through (or will go through) that.”
