Welcome to Tajunga – Timecop1983

I’ve been playing a game called Stories Untold. It’s a text based adventure but with with some really great and atmospheric world building going on. It’s a horror game technically but it’s that kind of “exciting not scary horror” that was in last year’s remake of Stephen King’s IT or Netflix’s Stranger Things, with which, by the way, it shares a common nostalgic 80s aesthetic.

Adieu, Pt. II – Tchami

The chilled vibes continue this week with Adieu, Pt. II! (what a stylish little rhyming phrase that was)

We both love adventures, don’t we? Sometimes we just wanna hop into our boat made of stars and sail out across the celestial sea, just to see what’s out there…

Forgive You – Leon Bridges

In fall 2014 the popular Texas-based blog Gorilla vs Bear posted a track from an artists named Leon Bridges. The writer admitted he didn’t know much about Bridges, but had been blown away by his “brilliant throwback soul jams” and wanted to give a kid from Fort Worth some shine.

Pretty Shining People – George Ezra

Two things I really love about this song.

First off, I’m not entirely sure what it is, but there’s something about George Ezra’s voice that calms me down and reminds me everything’s gonna be okay. It’s the way he croons oh so effortlessly, as if he’s basically dancing through life.

Secondly, it probably has a lot to do with how my best friend’s name is Sam, but even if that name wasn’t mentioned in the track it would still remind me of her! Everyone has that one friend in their life they feel they owe a lot to. If you’re lucky like me, then maybe you have a whole community. But for me, it always started with Sam.

Four in Jordan – TSU!

13 – Arelius

Delicate, gentle, uplifting.

The piano sound resonates in my ears for minutes after the end of the song  keeping my stress level very low

Wayne Wilkins is not only a sought after record producer, songwriter, and musician.

Roman Holiday – Halsey

This song is a dusty orange color, the color of the dust in the desert that surrounds the one lane highway you’re blazing down. It doesn’t matter where you’re going, just that you’re running from the parts of your life you can’t stand.

This Is America – Childish Gambino

Childish Gambino delivers with his new hard hitting single “This Is America” and the visuals are even more fire. The single is produced by Gambino himself alongside longtime collaborator Ludwig Goransson and features an upbeat and joyous chorus seguing into Gambino spitting about the various plights of Black Americans.

Gul Gulshan – Parvaaz

When I first heard this band, and this song specifically, I could not get enough of them. Kashmiri lyrics set to a guitar riff was ingenious and novel to me. Parvaaz became the new sound of India’s indie space and I haven’t gotten enough of their music since.

Memleket Türküsü – Ezginin Günlüğü

When I was a child, we used to go on roadtrips, a lot. Even though we had the choice to take the plane to our destination, we still preferred going there by car. The reason is: roadtrips allowed us to listen to a lot of music…

Got to Get into my Life – Earth, Wind & Fire

Eeemmm, I think I felt almost forced to put this song as it is the masterpiece of a masterpiece…

El Anillo – Jennifer Lopez

After four years, Jennifer Lopez returns with her new bangin’ floor filler “El Anillo” from her forthcoming studio album “Por Primera Vez” I have no trouble in admitting that this track makes me wanna get on the floor and get freakin’ buck wild and I think this is a pretty good comeback for J.LO considering the moderate success of her previous album 2014’s “A.K.A.”
