Circle 29 – Foam and Sand
Do you mind additional instruments on the tracks? Def keeping it piano focused but bringing in extra vibes? If that works for you then I’d start with this: Let me know if that works for you or whether you’d like to keep it purely piano. I’m stoked to making this with you ;-pppp
Upstream Dream – Slow Meadow
yesss big fan of Robot Koch! And I love the idea of pulling other instruments and electronic elements in.
Hope – Wordless Flight
I’m loving the Slow Meadow track – super delicate – those strings – like heart strings – and the ambient and nature sounds – this is def going on my solitude playlist ;-p
I’m following up with Wordless’ Flight’s Hope – I love how the slow fade out of Upstream Dream sets up the sparseness of the piano intro – like taking a pause before we get too deep into the list ;-p
Deep – Peter Sandberg
I’m glad you liked the Slow Meadow track! I am really enjoying “hope”… i love how it builds slowly and just plays with this deep melancholy in the reverb. My favorite track someone has recommended to me in awhile, so thanks!
I added Deep, by Peter Sandberg, the beginning of which follows the spacious end of Hope really nicely. Excited to see what you add next 🙂
Opus 20 – Dustin O’Halloran
I love the transition out of Hope into Deep! The warmth that comes in – there’s that beautiful all-enveloping comfort that comes from tracks like this – I love tracks like this! 😉 I’m on my third listen and have a whole host of references popping up – from Sigur Rós to the Interstellar soundtrack – it’s the subtle shifting from minor to major that delivers that – hopeful – uplifting ending. I don’tknow why Opus 20 needed to come next – I was in bed last night and it popped into my head – more so for the mood than the instrumentation. If Deep promises a brighter future, Dustin O’Halloran pulls back a little – there’s still plenty of time before the resolution – time to reflect – to get lost in the melancholy – to wonder if hope is actually worth it – hopefully – it is 🙂
Metamorphosis 2 – Philip Glass
Mint Green – Andrew Shapiro
Éclosion – Tony Anderson
Somewhere Without Lights – Aidan Tulloch
Éclosion is brilliant! Straight onto my ’25 Catch All playlist. We’re certainly working with dynamism and movement here – I had a nagging memory of a track and was super happy to find it again – I think it sits nicely next in the list ;-p. You’re up
We Came And Left – Cedric Vermue
I’m glad you like Eclosion! That track finds itself onto so many of my playlists.
Looks like you went DEEEP to find that nagging memory! I’m glad you were able to find it; that’s such a satisfying feeling. I had a similar experience a few weeks ago while making a playlist with Andie. She added a song and it reminded me of another one and I spent a long time looking for it… turns out it was the same song, just different artists 😅
The transition from Eclosion into Somewhere Without Lights is beautiful. I spent awhile trying to think of the next one. It’s currently between two, so stay tuned!
Body Without Wings – Nomazii
Heh! The list is very cool so far ;-p. I’m loving We Came And Left (if you were wondering ;-pppp)
Latent Dream – Mattia Vlad Morleo
Yeah i’m loving this playlist too! A lot of the tracks you’ve added have ended up on my own 2025 catch-all
Delta – Tepon
Went Missing – Nils Frahm
Getting Back Together – Music2work2
I love Nils Frahm – such a vibe ;-p. There’s such a movement to this playlist – feels very kinetic even if it’s subtle and gentle in place. I’ll be thinking of the next track. How have you been?
I’m going to be a bit cheeky and add a track of mine next ;-p. It’s a strange piece but it’s done quite well on the streaming platforms – I think the movement of the track fits the list – see what you think ;-p
Peaking On LSD – Kieran Huisman
Nils Frahm is one of my favorites too! Did you happen to see him when he came to LA last year?
I loved your track! I didn’t know you played, that was so beautiful and definitely fit right in the flow. I hope you like the next one, I thought it led out of your track quite nicely
A bottle of rouge – Cristian Vivaldi
I’m loving the Kieran Huisman track – the title especially – had me going to listen to a series of recordings i did when I was peaking on shrooms ;-pppp. I was at a party and they had this ancient piano (apparently it was elvira’s) and we’d all dropped – and while it doesn’t sound as good to my ears as it did at the time – it does crack me up. But I haven’t posted that anywhere ;-p
I ended up going for a really organic piece – I kinda dig the contrast between the crispness and looseness of Peaking and then rolling into the deep stillness of A bottle – and yet – it has that movement that seems to be integral to this list 😉
21:05 – Ólafur Arnalds
L’alternativa – bzur
London Bridges – Grandbrothers
ps I loved L’alternitiva – particularly how it’s tying in some of the earlier elements of the playlist. I’m still searching for the next track – i know it’s somewhere in the ether
We Are on the Side of Angels – Bing & Ruth
I just added my last track 😉 – this has been a blast – and just really ear opening – for which I’m very grateful – thank you 😉
I loved how London Bridges came together – everything coming in and slotting into the perfect place in space – like a tightly curated auditory smorgasbord – tasty ;-p
I’ve run with the expanded sonic soundscape of the last few tracks – while the piano is still front and center – it’s supported by the underlying percussion track – and yet still not overwhelming.
Which is kinda a nice metaphor for life – to feel supported but not overwhelmed – that feels really good.
We Are Born – Natalia Tsupryk
I wanted to end with a track that indicated both an ending and a beginning. A conclusion to the rise and fall of the music and the emotions in the playlist, and a transition into something else.
I feel like both ‘London Bridges’ and ‘We Are on the Side of Angels’ pulled together all of the different elements in the playlist together so well, especially the more spacious, percussive, and ambient elements.
I felt satisfied with the end of those elements, but wanted another (mostly) solo piano track to round it all out.
What I love about this track is that it suggests endings and beginnings. A convincing closure, and an indication that it will all continue somehow, in another form.

About the Curators
cay
cay is obsessed with music. They are fans of just about anything, but their primary love is neo-classical music. They love how music without words allows the listener to create their own meaning of the song, to pull out their own interpretations of the emotions. They think that there's nothing more pleasing to the ears than a good piano arrangement (except maybe for a good strings arrangement!), and they spend most of their free time on Spotify making playlists for them and their friends. cay also enjoys arranging playlists to fit a journey (a yoga class, a psychedelic journey, a night with friends), and you can find those playlists on their Spotify profile.
Andrew
The first visual memory I have is that of the white upright piano in Singapore, Hell and the Dark Forces lived at the bottom, Heaven and the Angels at the top, they would play battles through my fingers and I was hooked.
As a psychology graduate I studied how sound affects human performance.
As a musician I compose instrumental music that stimulates your brain but doesn't mess with your language centers, leaving you free to write creatively without distraction.
As a curator I research how music can improve your life and create flow - I can tell you what music to listen to when studying for a test and why listening to sad music can make you feel better.
As a creator / contributor at musicto I believe that music can make the world better.
