New year new start huh?!
Yeah – that didn’t exactly work out for me either – but – but – it’s the end of January and I’m feeling kinda – what’s that word – I used to use it all the time… it’s odd isn’t it – when you don’t use something for a while it removes itself – giving up space to something more popular – but I’m trying to remember now – what was it – oh yeah – Optimistic!
My optimism is my power – my biggest strength and of course my greatest liability. I know what it’s like to lead teams into failure – it’s not something I wish to repeat – and yet – this is what I do – so – here we go…
This track has been at the top of my Essay – round 3 playlist for over 3 months. I’ve probably listened to it over 100 times and yes – I love it – but why am I sharing it to the list?
If like me you’re starting slow into the year but you have plans – big plans – and you’re not about to waste your time on the planet – may I suggest a little something from Richard David James?
Don’t overthink it – just put it on repeat for a while – get to know the melody – get to know the little flourishes and sudden ending – allow it to sit in the back of your mind as you turn your attention to the task at hand (apologies to musicians whose task is creating music, clearly, this isn’t going to work for that ;-p) and see what happens.
Sometimes, simple is all you need.
