I don’t know how or why this track got into my head and made the list. The odds against that happening were long - the most perfunctory track submission with nary a line on why I should listen would typically result in being sent straight to trash - but for some reason I had a listen…

An opening straight out of an acid disco lounge that gets overtaken in the first minute by an almost plodding arpeggio suddenly turns into a Clint Mansell groove that would sound great on the Drive soundtrack - and it all starts to make sense.

It’s been on my “candidates” list for a few weeks and my ears always prick up when it comes on - there’s someting to the rawness of the piece but I don’t think it’s even that - I think it’s the variety that gets me. There’s gotta be at least four or five different “feels” to the track and yet they all make sense as part of the whole - the back end of the track is a space fantasy wash superimposed on a Video Game soundtrack.. - yeah - good luck imagining what that sounds like?!

Fortunately, you don’t have to! Take it out for a spin - it’s well worth it.

About the Curator: Andrew McCluskey

Andrew McCluskey - Musicto Curator

The first visual memory I have is that of the white upright piano in Singapore, Hell and the dark forces lived at the bottom, Heaven and the Angels at the top. They would play battles through my fingers and I was hooked.

Although I've always played, I haven't always been a musician.  Most of my twenties were spent working with people, buying and selling and learning how the world works.  It was in my thirties that I came to America and focused on music and began to develop music2work2.
