I’ve had people close to me ask why I’d ever want to listen to sad songs that remind me pain. For me, the answer is that there’s something cathartic about it. Sad music gives me space to reflect on where I’ve been, where I am now, and even where I’m going. If it’s a song I really relate to, it can feel like holding up a mirror. Sometimes the meaning shifts over time, and I find myself connecting to it in a completely new, more positive way.
There’s also an emotional release that comes with listening. Sometimes you just need that song to crack open the feelings you’ve been carrying, especially when no one around you fully understands what you’re going through. A song can “get it” in a way people can’t. If that release looks like finally crying, feeling seen, or even tapping into a little revenge or bitterness just to make it through the moment, it helps. Sad songs aren’t just reminders of pain. They’re reminders that we’re human, we’ve survived, and we can keep moving forward.

I love a good theme. I put my heart, soul, and emotions into every playlist, building stories through music. To me, a playlist isn’t just a collection of songs, it’s a feeling, a world, an experience. I want listeners to not only hear the music; but feel it, whether it’s the deepest of emotions or the story I’m trying to tell.
My taste? Eclectic as can be. No genre is off limits, and my process varies with each playlist. Some come together naturally, others are inspired by visuals, a topic I am really into, or a single moment in time. Nostalgia plays a huge role in my selections, along with deep storytelling and meaning.
If you’re looking for playlists that go beyond the algorithm, that take you somewhere, this is the place. Hit play and go on a musical adventure.
