27 The 1975 playlists

The 1975 is a UK based band that has been around for over twenty years. The group consists of 4 members with lead vocalist and guitarist: Matty Healy, lead guitarist: Adam Hann, bassist: Ross Macdonald, and drummer: George Daniel.

The 1975 have always been one of my favorite bands. The first time I heard that hypnotic guitar riff in Chocolate, I was instantly hooked. Add Matty Healy’s charisma at the front of the stage, and I knew this was a band I’d be following for years. I’ve had the privilege of seeing them live eight times now, four of those during their massive At Their Very Best tour, and I can honestly say they’re still at their very best today.

What makes The 1975 so fascinating is their ability to constantly reinvent themselves. One album might lean into glossy pop hooks, the next into hazy indie rock, and then suddenly they’ll hit you with an atmospheric ballad or a jazz-inspired interlude.

Few bands are willing to bend genres the way they do, and that’s part of why their music connects with so many people. No matter what style you’re into, they’ve probably got at least one song you’ll love. Because I can never get enough, I’ve even created Sounds Like The 1975 (Parts 1, 2, and 3), curating artists who carry that same mix of vulnerability, experimentation, and irresistible melodies. Bands like Bleachers, Dayglow, Arctic Monkeys, also have their own unique take on the indie sound, but they share that same spirit of energy and emotional honesty that makes The 1975 so addictive.

Whether you’re here to discover their biggest hits, dive into deep cuts, or explore playlists inspired by their sound, you’ll find plenty to get lost in.
