Lorraine – Big Thief

Life is fleeting, like a beautiful moment. This song is like life, a precious second of existence that just captivates you deeply and then it’s gone, forever, as fast as it came.

We go back to being us for a moment, passing through the night and listening to its silence, joined by the soft and embracing sound of Adrianne Lenker’s voice and guitar.

Tacoma – Caitlyn Smith

The bad news: At one point in your life, if you haven’t already, you will experience heartbreak. The good news: You are stronger than you think and you will survive. It just takes time, and in the case of “Tacoma” by Caitlyn Smith, lots and LOTS of space… like thousands of miles worth. Unfortunately, I don’t think my little silver Honda Civic would have taken me clear across the country when I experienced one of the worst heartbreaks of my life, but it’s good to know that a green Chevrolet, according to Caitlyn, will do the job.

God Bless – Maino Feat. Fat Joe & Fresh

The Self Proclaimed “King Of Brooklyn” Maino has just rereleased some heat for the streets.

The song “God bless” is an ode to all the haters that wanna stop him from doing what he’s supposed to be doing out here on these streets of New York which is staying fly getting all the woman and keeping those licks coming in which is another way of saying ” Im getting money”.

To Be Alone – Hozier

I’ll be honest, back in 2013 when Hozier put out his self-titled (and only) album, I was turned off by how just how big Take Me To Church got; boy was I missing out. Every single song on this record is incredible, and his voice has an intimate grit to it. If you haven’t really listened to it, you need to right now.

Pretty Pimpin – Kurt Vile

This week we have “Pretty Pimpin” from the incomparable “Kurt Vile” former guitarist for “The War on Drugs”.

I first heard this a few years back ,out on the road, and just loved the Indie/roots flavour it has going on, but it was actually the lyric that got me and reminded me of “Paul Kelly’s” “Look so Fine but Feel so Low”  so don’t be fooled by it’s catchy facade…

Freedom ’90 – George Michael

From the Listen without Prejudice album, George Michael’s Freedom ’90 tells a story of breaking free from a way of thinking, a way of being. This freedom is true, he must make his own choices and, be his priority.   Beautiful inside and out, we are all better for him being in the world, for he followed his heart.

Latch – Disclosure

I have to admit that I am a real sucker for this track! It reminds me of my times in London, where I was diving into the musical scene and discovering the variety that this great city has to offer. The sound has a real club music vibe to it and is so typical for the London sound, which I really love! It’s so damn sexy and who doesn’t love sexy songs?! The vid fits perfectly into all that…

For Nancy (‘Cos It Already Is) – Pete Yorn

That Miserable Man Milligan – Harris Cole

In the mood for a beat instrumental next on this playlist, I decided to add this laid back track by young Chicago-based producer Harris Cole. I came across Harris Cole’s music on a playlist of beats on Spotify. This track is off of his late 2016 release, “Pause.”

Emma – music2work2

One of the earlier music2work2 tracks, it has been played over 120,000 times on YouTube and has a small but loyal group of people who swear by it.  Coming in at just shy of 20 minutes it is one long extended development that goes all over the place and yet still retains some weird kind of identity.
