With absolutely no shortage of awesome sounds rolling out of Canada – This week I have the talented singer-songwriter Lisa Le Blanc.
Someone recently asked me if I could focus on more female talent on the list so here we are……I knew exactly where to kick it off.

You never know what it is about a song that’s finally going to get you – the melody – the chorus – a particular lyric or even the video – but for me – Burning Blue has a hook to kill all hooks and it’ll haunt your dreams.
Halfway Zen – Jerry Paper
This is Jerry Paper. His unique style of indie synth pop is something I can only describe as “Toy Box Music”. The aesthetic is very lo-fi and minimalistic with child like instrumentals that could brighten any mood. His happy go lucky style brings out your inner child as he sings with an awkwardness you can’t help but love.
Zaten Kırılmış Bir Kızsın – Bağzıları
Onur Ünlü ya da şair mahlasıyla Ah Muhsin Ünlü’nün ‘Yaşasın! Ne Kadar da İdeolojik Yaklaşıyoruz Birbirimize’ adlı pek kıymetlı şiirinden dizilere de yer veren parçanın sözlerinde bir şeyler bulmamak elde değil. 2017’de piyasaya sürülen Bize Kalsın albümünün öne çıkan parçası ‘Zaten Kırılmış Bir Kızsın’ modern sahneye ait olsa da 2000’lerin rock sounduna çok yakın ögeler içeriyor. Gürültüsüz, sade bir atmosferi var.
Runnin’ – The Pharcyde
After some weeks playing a bit of modern trends of hip hop and R&B, old school jazz rap is back to Music to Dali & Jay-Z Lovers!
Old and new are always welcome as long as it’s good music, and that’s definitely the case here! “Runnin'” by The Pharcyde is groovy hip hop with elements of jazz and samba (including a Stan Getz sample), produced by the awesome J. Dilla (check our review of “Thought u wuz nice“, also produced by him).

Following your friends on music streaming platforms can be quite rewarding. Stumbling upon Alfa Mist was one of the better things that came out of it.
