Brighter Than The Moon – The Color Wild

This week I borrow my words from The Color Wild, as they describe exactly why their track is perfect for this playlist. “This song is driving without direction in the middle of the night, realizing that one person can fill your entire frame of vision…

Wake Me Up – Avicii

Avicii’s death is truly painful and still hard to come to terms with and i realize part of the reason i’ve taken it this hard is because this track was one of the songs that formed the basis of my playlist.

I Could Be The One – Noonie Bao Acoustic Mix – Avicii, Nicky Romero

The news of Avicii’s death this week shook me pretty hard. To lose such a talented person is always tragic (and it comes off the back of the death of Stephen Hawking last month, another huge hero of mine), but when that person is hardly a year older than you it reminds you that death really doesn’t care how old or how successful you are. It reminds you that you really have to live life properly, and not waste it on pointless bollocks…

Sister Sister – Hat Fitz & Cara Robinson

Sometimes the truth catches you by surprise, thats what happened to me when I heard this song.

Sisters, grown together, destined for different paths, move away from each other, over distances, over time.

Sean Nicholas Savage – Propaganda

Sean Nicholas Savage is Canadian singer by way of Arbutus Records and is one of my greatest discoveries since diving deep into the indie scene. His voice has so much character to it. Even after listening to him a few times, every song is full of sophisticated energy. And with six projects under his belt your sure to find the right vibe for the occasion.

DUCKWORTH. – Kendrick Lamar

On DAMN., Kendrick Lamar finds no issue in producing great quality music. Yet amongst Billboard Top 40 hits and collaborations with the world’s biggest artists, such as U2 and Rihanna, this song is a clear standout. It begins by sampling Ted Taylor’s “Be Ever Wonderful”. Similar to other playlist songs, 9thWonder’s production is incredible.

Electric Episode – Big Inf

As a salute to Stoners who celebrate “420”, Macktown360 Records drops the “dope” bonus track, “Electric Episode”, off of the well-received, “New Industry” Playlist project by DJ Big Inf.  “Electric Episode” also features Rapper Hakim Green from Channel Live, and is being released in honor of “420”, the widely-celebrated day of recognition for Cannabis.

Save Me – XXXTENTACION

There are a lot of times that even I somewhat discount a food I see before I even taste it. Only to find out its something I may feel like I cant live without eating all the time. Well this same thing happens in music and Im sure this doesn’t just happen to me.

Free Ascent – Flow

I realize that I can’t just run with one track from this stunning album – so in the spirit of helping you flow into your writing – here’s a second song from Flow The Group.

It’s the fourth track on the album and normally follows behind our featured track of the month – Flow.  Whereas Flow is all underlying energy and movement – Free Ascent is all about space, time, pause for thought and stunning sonic landscapes…

Guilty Party – The National

The National are no strangers to writing deep emotional songs, but on this recent single from their latest release they capture feelings not only with lyrics but instrumentation. The minor piano riff that starts the song alone brings heavy feelings and when singer Matt Berninger begins singing everything blends together…
