Bu şarkıyı ne zaman dinlesem William Wallace’ın hafızalara kazınan sözü aklıma gelir: “Herkes bir gün ölür, ama çok az insan gerçek anlamda yaşar.” Feridun Hürel’in (3 Hürel’in vokali ve sözyazarı) sözlerinin derinliğini ve referanslarını tam anlamıyla anlamak için birkaç kaynağa başvurmak gereken bu şarkı anadolu rock müziğinin zirvelerinden birisidir. Parçanın bazı yerlerinde felsefi paradokslara da gönderme yaptığı görülür.

Bu güzel kadını geçen sene haberlerde görmüştüm. Manset,  “Selda Primavera Sound Festivali’nde sahne alacak.” şeklindeydi. O an, en cok etkilenip sasırdıgım zamanlardan biriydi cünkü Selda Türkiye’de yıllardır isini zaten gayet iyi bir şekilde yapıyordu ama onun Avrupa’da bu kadar popüler oldugunu bilmiyordum.

From Glasgow now we are going down south up to Brighton, The Kooks and this delightful song.

See the sun is part of the tracklist of the album Konk, actually recorded on the famous Konk Studio. Produced by Tony Hoffer it’s just a little clue you get before listening this album that this is a piece of art. The real clue is the talent this guys have and the fact they always knew the direction for their “pop” influenced by 60’s british invasion and post punk revival music.

More Than a Feeling – Boston

There are some classic rock songs that are unquestionably part and parcel of the rock and roll rubric. “Stairway to Heaven,” “Imagine,” “Hound Dog”…all are staples of rock. Boston’s “More Than a Feeling” certainly fits into this category as well. Released in September of 1976, it hit number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Much like the group Kansas, the name of the group as well as the music itself, represents big sky, limitless wheat fields, rich soil, simplicity and freedom.

My latest post-gig come down happened at a festival when my band finished playing I ran over to the main stage at Greenman to catch the last part of the set by The Shins. James Mercer introduced the song and suddenly I was transported to such a calming place with such an incredible string line and gorgeous melodies built up around it…

The music of SLF was a great influence on me as a teenager. Coming from a small, rural town in the East of England, I couldn’t relate directly to a bunch of Belfast boys who had grown up during The Troubles. But I had no difficulty understanding what it was like to be surrounded by generations of adults who thought they knew best about my future, despite making a mess of the world and their own lives.
