This hot soul track waves, wobbles, and gets you motivated in a peaceful type of way. There is good symmetry of a care free feel, while maintaining a positive message. Sometimes a songwriter creates a lyric and melody so strong, that they need not waiver from it too much. That said, there is a funky, behind the beat bridge that moves you to just the right place. Well played.
Musically there are a lot of things happening in and out to make this recording most interesting. Some tasteful vocals and harmonies. Some gospel flair. Some soulful ad-libs. Incredibly hip tones on everything. A simple but tilted bass line makes this groove. It almost sounds like you're falling down the stairs, but in a good way. Lastly, let us salute the guitar work on this track, for it's pure style.
