Sport’s amazing! That you can get people from Scotland, USA, and UAE to come together to make a playlist around an English football league – well – sport’s kinda like music in that way – it connects us over a shared interest and that’s what we’re all about at musicto.
This was a fun one to do – we had already made a “Rockin” playlist together and Molly suggested that as we all liked to watch the EPL, we could make a playlist of tracks that represent each team – could be chants, theme songs or even tracks that for whatever reason, we just associate with the team during the season.
Joshua is a big Chelsea fan and knows more about the league than Molly or Andrew – Andrew’s been an Arsenal supporter since he was a kid, while Molly’s been supporting Arsenal since the 2022 documentary All or Nothing – she also spends what seems a huge part of her life driving her two amazing daughters to soccer games across California!
We made the playlist throughout the season, Joshua going first, then Molly, then Andrew – we picked a team – added a song and a small write up and took it in turns until we’d covered the entire league. While we’re presenting the list in the order of the final standings, what’s been interesting is to see what we were thinking at the time we added the track. You’ll see below who selected the track and at what date it was added to the list – reading Joshua’s mid-season despair is heartbreaking ;-p Andrew’s selection of Crazy Train for Tottenham feels inspired as does Molly’s choice of Glad All Over for Crystal Palace!
And please note – this was done for fun – no doubt there are a million different and “better” tracks for each team – but these are ours – at least for the 24 / 25 season. Maybe we’ll do one for next year…
You’ll Never Walk Alone – Gerry & The Pacemakers – Liverpool
Speaking of Liverpool, they’ve come a long way since the Brendan Rodgers’ days, when the title was firmly in their grasp until an unfortunate slip occurred (and Demba Ba capitalizing ;).
Their fortunes had changed by the arrival of the ‘normal one’, winning multiple titles which also led to many heartbreaking moments for the Blues (including 4 cup final losses, 3 of which were pen shootouts). Kloppo had turned a group of boys to an unstoppable army of men (well except for those two close title finishes by City) and they’ve never walked alone ever since. Curious to see how Arne Slot will do at the helm.

Rockin’ All Over the World – Status Quo – Arsenal
We are off to a winning start! I added Rockin’ All Over the World by Status Quo. I heard this song in an episode of All or Nothing: Arsenal, where if I remember correctly, the guys were singing this in the locker room after a win. All or Nothing is where I became endeared to the Gooners and I love that Andrew and I share a passion for this squad. After seeing them play here in L.A. this summer, a bucket list dream is to take the family to North London and see them play in Emirates Stadium.
Andrew: It was the chant they had with Saka and Emilie Smith-Rowe – who just got sold to Fulham! 😉
Molly: Yes! And now Ramsdale is gone!!! 😱
Molly – September 2nd, 2024
Open The Door, See What You Find – Noel Ghallager’s High Flying Birds – Manchester City
Hi Guys, I added my next track! Since we know Andrew won’t want to choose a Man City song, I went ahead and found one 😂. I wasn’t aware, but Noel Gallagher of Oasis, is a fan of the club and made his own playlist in June of 2023 in honor of the Champions League Final. He went ahead and put in a bunch of his own songs, which I guess is what you get to do when you are a rockstar
Andrew: Noel Gallagher is a massive City fan – that’s a great selection!!!

Blue Day (feat. The Chelsea Team) – Stamford Bridge Mix – Chelsea
And I support a carefree bunch who’s famous for the initials ‘CFC’. Here’s another hint, they’re synonymous with a colour which is also a popular genre in music.
It’s a Blue Day! (for the wrong reasons, lol). I just had to go with the Blues. Went with this one because I personally liked this more than the other tracks (Carefree is a close second).

Fog On The Tyne – Lindisfarne – Newcastle
So I was looking through famous songs about newcastle football club and Fog On The Tyne immediately caught my eye ;-p I remember listening to it as a kid and just loving the overall construction and melody of the chorus – super hooky. In my reading I found that it had been “covered” by Geordie legend Paul Gascoigne in a “club” version of the song. Interestingly enough you can hear that version here – (note the banner in the top right: “Ultimate 100 really bad songs!”) https://youtu.be/T1urq4Vb0XM?si=X1dGiKOciyOznWXS

Escape – Craig Armstrong – Aston Villa
Arsenal were dreadful in the second half against Leicester – well – not dreadful but they just lost their way – mind you – that second Leicester goal was outstanding – the 4:2 result was flattering ;-p
OK – I’m getting closer to matching the music to the club – I’ve added Escape which is apparently Aston Villa’s walk out music – and what an epic track it is. They have a chance to jump City and Arsenal if they win tomorrow – up there with Liverpool.
I can’t help but grin every time Man. U. lose ;-pppppppp
Andrew – September 28th, 2024
Mull of Kintyre – Wings – Nottingham Forest
I’m a sucker for bagpipes, betcha didn’t know that Andrew! Therefore, this track was a happy discovery and love that it is by Wings. I will admit, I asked AI for some help with this one and I was very happy with the result. This song has been a long-time anthem for Forest fans, often sung at the City Ground before matches.

Seagull – Bad Company – Brighton & Hove Albion
Happy New Year Everyone. Hope both of you’ve had a fantastic holiday season.
Welp, it’s just amazing how competitive the league is. A few weeks ago, we were 3 points from the top. Now, we’re a point away from dropping out of Top 4. Don’t know what’s changed but the goals are drying up for the Blues.
I’ve added Seagull by Bad Company, representing Brighton, who’ve been a bit inconsistent this season. They’re currently winless in their last 8 PL games.

The AFC Bournemouth Song – Julian Barry – Bournemouth
Just added my song! I’m having to do some research now as I’m not as familiar with the rest of the club’s songs that are associated with them! Found the AFC Bournemouth Song and I really like it! Very upbeat and a catchy tune.

Rej – Meute – Brentford –
Who would think that an 11-piece techno marching band from Germany would be a global success? I didn’t until I came across them and saw them exceeding expectations and batting well above their weight. Which – in some way – you could say the same about Brentford’s beloved manager – Thomas Frank. Over the years he’s taken the team from definitely 2nd class to consistently being in the top half of the table. Although he’s struggling a bit this year – this is the perfect track to show his uncanny ability to create something that seems to be bigger than the sum of its parts!
Andrew – February 6th, 2025
Can’t Take My Eyes Off You – Andy Williams – Fulham
Hello, lads! I was pleased to discover that Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Andy Williams is a beloved anthem for Fulham supporters, often sung passionately at Craven Cottage on match days. I adore this song. The tradition started in the early 2000s, gaining popularity among the supporters due to its catchy, singalong nature. It’s particularly emotional during big moments, creating a special atmosphere in the stadium.

Glad All Over (2019 – Remaster) – The Dave Clark Five – Crystal Palace
yesssssss! Added my next track in honor of Crystal Palace, Glad All Over by The Dave Clark Five. This song has a definite Beatles sound. While researching what song to pick for the club, I read about the group, they were the 1st British group to tour America, weeks before the Beatles!
Andrew: Love this track ;-)))
Great result for you Joshua – Cole Palmer is on fire (well – he’s icily efficient!) ;-p
Joshua: Cold Palmer 🥶 in his element. Bridging the gap between the top 4. Should be an interesting race this season.
Molly – September 15th, 2024
Lights Under Goodison – Gustaffson – Everton
Welp, at least you guys are winning games :,) I don’t know what went wrong, we were 4 points away from the top during Christmas and now we’re 6th and out of both competitions. Everything is in shambles!
Sorry for the rant guys! It’s hard to be a Chelsea fan these days. Moving on, my next pick goes to Everton, a club often forgotten for their rich history, which made them among the most successful clubs in England.
Joshua – February 16th, 2025
I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles – John Kellette – West Ham United
The Blues have been pretty awful since December ngl. Wishing we make top 4, if not it’s going to be really embarrassing. Hope you guys have enough steam while facing Los Blancos., beating the Madristas in the UCL have been proven to be extremely difficult, who somehow find a way to win when the odds are stacked against them.
Moving on, I’ve added “I’m forever blowing bubbles”, which interestingly happens to be West Ham’s Anthem.
Joshua – March 20th, 2025
Lord, I’m Discouraged – The Hold Steady – Manchester United
My next one is a bit tongue in cheek ;-p. I confess to experiencing much schadenfreude whenever Manchester United get beaten – they were such arrogant Tossers for a couple of decades – it’s just so refreshing to see their supporters suffer ;-pppppp. Having watched Liverpool dismantle them over the weekend this track is for all the Man.U fans out there – ;-p
Andrew – September 2nd, 2024
Wolves – Phosphorescent – Wolves
My dad was an Obstetrician / Gynaecologist – spent most of his time doctoring with women – however – there was a small period of time – back in the 70’s when he moonlighted as the team doctor for Wolverhampton Wanderers. I’m not sure exactly how it went down and he’s been gone a good 9 years now so I can’t ask him for more details, but it is part of the family legend.
I’ve often wondered how one of those consults might have gone down…
Andrew – August 27th, 2024
Crazy Train – Ozzy Osborne – Tottenham Hotspur
I know as an Arsenal fan I’m supposed to have a deep antipathy towards Spurs but I can’t help but love Ange ball! Spurs are the most exciting team to watch in the premier league – possibly the world – able to score goals at will and then throw the game just – well – because! ;-p And sure they’re suffering injuries and they don’t have a deep enough bench but I’ll always tune in to see them play – too much fun!!
Andrew – December 21st, 2024
Underdog – Kasabian – Leicester
A lot of goals we witnessed over the past weekend. So many exciting games!
My next pick takes us back to the underdog story of how Leicester won their first ever League title in 2016. Kasabian are based in Leicester and proudly supports the club.
Joshua – October 2nd, 2024
The Tractor Song – The Wurzels – Ipswich Town
I don’t know how I forgot about the deep relationship between Ipswich Town and Ed Sheeran. He’s often seen at the games and his tour branding is all over the advertising at the stadium. So I was going to go with Shape of You, which is often sung by the crowd but then I remembered something better ;-p Affectionately known as “The Tractor Boys” – Ipswich is based in Suffolk – a very rural part of east England – I went to school in the neighbouring county and it’s all fields of carrots and sugarbeet and indeed – Tractors.
Back in 1976 (when I was a mere 7 years old ;-p) there was a comedy “hit” record by a West Country band called The Wurzels – the track was about how the guy had a brand new Combine Harvester and that he’d give the key to his beau if only she’d marry him and share her 43 acres (to his meagre 20!) – somehow it captured the country’s attention and they played it on top of the pops dressed up as farmers – next to bands like ABBA, Slade, The Sweet, etc – it was hysterical. I could have gone with that but decided The Tractor Song is more appropriate ;-p
Andrew – March 8th, 2025
Oh When The Saints Go Marching In – Louis Armstrong – Southampton
And we’re finally done! The Saints have marched in and will now be seeing themselves out of the Prem after an awful season.
Joshua, April 6th, 2025
Playlist image does use the lion’s head from the EPL logo – we’re hoping they’ll allow us to use it as “fair use” as we’re not making money from this and are in fact promoting the EPL. We’ll take it down if they ask us ;-p
About the Curators
Joshua Thomas
Hi there, I'm Joshua. I have been listening to songs for longer than I can remember. It has really been an integral part of my life. As a 2000s kid, I grew up listening to a lot of alt rock, pop punk and nu metal. I have come a long way since then, listening to a wide array of music including (but not limited to) synthwave, tropical house, lofi and prog rock. I wish to discover more amazing music and share it to the world.
I have always believed that music is a medium that can be used to connect and inspire people. It is a unique form of self expression which can move everyone. For me personally, it's a really special bond/connection that makes me who I am. So, I certainly think that the songs a person listens to says a lot about their personality.
I have also tested the waters and tried making some compositions myself. I wouldn't say it sounds amazing but if you are interested, take a look at my soundcloud:

Thank you for reading my profile. Have a wonderful day :)
Molly Taylor
I was born and raised in Southern California. My first musical memories were listening to Donna Summers records in my living room on repeat and plunking out Heart and Soul on our untuned piano. Flash forward to the age of iPods where my friends and I would create massive playlists for every occasion in our carefree lives. I still treasure these playlists and always have a big smile when I hear them. After a long career of teaching elementary school I took a hiatus to raise my family and now work as a digital marketer, which led me to my friendship with Andrew who became my valued mentor. I have a great love of music simply because it moves my soul. If you're looking for help with your digital presence - you can learn more about my marketing business here. Happy listening!
