Ironically, I’ve always used music to communicate what I can’t say in words and am now doing the reverse. Fundamentally, this playlist is soul personified. I want it to be able to flow when played in order yet, still be consistent in quality and vibe when on shuffle. This will take community. So please make sure to follow my social media links as well as the playlist itself. I’d also love to hear from you! So reach out and message me what you love, what you think, and your own track suggestions!
All that being said, I’m committed to search high and low to showcase the very best. Neo-soul, Jazz, RnB, Hiphop and numerous newer styles will be on full display here . All in the pursuit of making a playlist that speaks directly to the soul in each of us.

With You – Noname
18 September 2019
I can’t think of a better way to introduce rap into “Sooth the Soul” then with Noname. A staple in any conversation about Chicago hiphop, poetry, or art in general…
Cope – Blumoon
12 September 2019

Show Me How – Men I Trust
4 September 2019
I imagine this what what the sirens call would have sounded like right before the sailors would fall under the mermaids spell. Each beat coming right on time, effortlessly. Vocally, Emma Proulx finds a way to sound as though she’s singing from the depths of your dream. Guiding you towards some sort of deep seated realization, or maybe a memory long forgotten…
Some – Steve Lacy
8 August 2019
“Some” starts with the light but steady drums the backbone and support for the whole song. Just as you start to get comfortable Steve slides in with the confidence and swagger reminiscent of many RnB greats. Lacy shines in a streaming world where his often less than perfect mixes have a bedroom pop quality to them…
Alright – Jordan Rakei
8 August 2019
There are few voices that can cut to the soul as effortlessly as Jordan Rakei’s. A veteran talent from New Zealand, I chose this song as it is evident within seconds you’re in for a treat. Even those aren’t drawn in by the groovy jazz driven soul instrumentation will be by his soothing voice…
