it’s 4am. you stayed up too long. too late to go to sleep. too tired to do anything. so you sit there, or lay there, doing nothing. at this point you’re not even sure if you can move. eyes fixated but not looking at all. can’t seem to remember if you’re comfortable right now or not. it doesn’t matter.
adrift with no raft, back on the water. don’t really feel wet. don’t really feel anything, just raw emotion. no specific emotion, no specific tide or current. keeps switching and changing, you floating atop. along for the ride, but going nowhere in particular. no distractions, but nothing to focus on.
sun’s not out, but it’s not dark. nothing is solid. nothing is real. no baggage, no responsibilities, no stresses, no anxieties. no boats. nothing but the emotions. you and the emotions in this moment. drifting at 4am.
