Hot track alert. It's the latest from Ginger Root. This song feels fresh and spacey-deep. Anchored by a nice boogie that comes and goes, it maintains an alchemistic type of funk. Certainly danceable, but there is more to it than just that, and that's good.
Crunchy drums, crackling Wurli, and swooping synths. It's a lush overall sound with cool and creative production. The lyric poses a great question and seems to be earnest. Melodic themes and a dreamlike vocal sound illustrates Cameron Lew's songwriting finesse, and his ability to create "aggressive elevator soul" as he calls it. As for the final moments of this song, it's a dramatic explosion propelled by some raw expression on the bass guitar. This track is no doubt a journey, but one you'll be glad to go on.
