If this vigorous, fiery, four-on-the-floor funk track doesn't make you wanna rise, then feel free to stay seated. But there's some church organ led soul going on that is simply indisputable. Juneteenth 2020 is here, and how bittersweet it is that Cory Henry delivers a song such as this to dust the cobwebs off of the inert dwellers residing in the fog.
The Funk Apostles music has gotten raw lately. All the better. This band is hot. Who better to make it funky when things have gotten so funky? Not sure if this song was cut to tape or not, but either way it has the sass. The bass and drums are true as can be. The backing vocals are absurdly powerful, as is that melting B3. Fresh bubble guitar in the mix. Thank you Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles. It is plain to see we need this track right now. And we're with you, your music, and its message 100%.
