“If Dem Tell Me” is an Afrobeats song by Nigerian artist Jeff Tha Rula. The song explores Jeff’s love interest and blends the message smoothly with a beautiful beat. Jeff explains:
“How I got the idea of this song was so funny and strange, I was just doing a research on fela kuti and Afro beats sounds on YouTube then of a sudden I ran into this beat I just started humming the chorus it so got me that I e-mailed the producer immediately @kdsummerz to get the rights to the beat, I wrote that song in less than 20mins it just came then I knew it was a special song, even here in Nigeria it has been raising dust.”
Jeff Tha Rula’s musical influences include Michael Jackson, Fela Kuti, Nas, Jadakiss, Luther Vandross, Celine Dion, to mention but a few to which Jeff started performing at age 5 and by 9 was already performing at clubs doing big shows with big crowds. Jeff’s first single to be released was a song titled Warning which was released on March 14th 2002 and his first full album titled Da Enfant Terrible was released on December 12th 2007. Follow up to the album was the SWAT MIXTAPE which was released in 2017 which featured big name artists which include M.I Abaga and Solid Star respectively.
