“Honestly” is a soulful track by the young Zimbabwean singer/songwriter Nnashe. The song features on South African DJ Speedsta’s EP titled Palm Trees & Pretty Girls. On Friday, 11 October 2019, DJ Speedsta released his six-track EP, Palm Trees & Pretty Girls. The EP is of the follow-up to his nine-track compilation, Bottlebrushstr, which was released in January 2019.
On the day of the EP’s release, DJ Speedsta took to his social media pages to announce that the EP was released as a summertime soundtrack. In his post on Instagram, he stated, “I’m about to wrap up my year, I want to be by the beach all summer. So, I put together a project called Palm Trees & Pretty Girls. A summer playlist curated by me for you!”
The song “Honestly” is song in which Nnashe expresses his fears on breaking up with the love of his life. He expresses his Honest truth and emotions towards the matter over the soft sounds of the guitar.
“Honestly, the thought of losing you
Went through my mind a couple times
And every time girl I thought I’d die
But now I’ve lost and I’m still alive”
“Honestly” is the the last song on the EP and is one good for your relaxed Sunday afternoon. Enjoy!!
