I don’t wanna die but I don’t wanna live like this
Artificial stimulation is all the rage these days. And who can blame us? In the year of our Lord, 2020, we as a collective human society entered a shared experience that rivaled World Wars. Quarantines the scope of plagues, lockdowns acting as global penitentiaries, face coverings like the entire world was invited to a secret society ball. So yeah, at this point, stimulate me!
Bea Miller (not to be confused with the late Bea Arthur of Golden Girls fame), joins forces with Animé on our track of the month, the bouncy and pleading “FEEL SOMETHING DIFFERENT”. From the file of “Don’t Overthink This,” this track is the remix of her hit song, “feel something.” This comes off her 2020 EP, elated!, five years after her debut album. The remix, as is the case with most remixes, transports the track from the house to the club. The former song went viral on (where else) TikTok, but Bea is no stranger to celebrity. She started her singing career as a contestant on the show X factor (finishing 9th), and has been a voice actor on projects such as Toy Story 3, Ice Age, and Wonder Pets.
Aminé (not to be confused with Anime), joins Bea as someone who should be more known than he is. The son of immigrants, Aminé is the artist behind one of the best rap albums of 2020, Limbo, a solid effort from top to bottom. His guest verse on “FEEL SOMETHING DIFFERENT“ elevates the track beyond the original, as his voice and cadence flow perfectly over the electronica beat.
Whether stuck at home in a dead end job, or just stuck at home, “FEEL SOMETHING DIFFERENT“ is the stimulation you need to get up, get out and get something.
