About this Playlist
This playlist is me basically me expressing my fear. Normally I wouldn’t want to do this, but I’m okay with it because I still deal with fear every day—it just doesn’t paralyze me. My biggest fear is that it’s all meaningless, that everything we’re doing means nothing, and that ultimately I don’t mean anything. In the grand scheme, I’ll just be forgotten. But I keep doing it because I hope against hope that this does mean something.
The playlist is not so much thematic—the message isn’t in the lyrics—it’s more about the mood of the playlist. These are the songs I listen to when that fear or anxiety kicks in. It reflects two sides: hope and humor, but also a deeper, darker element. Now more than ever, I’m consciously in tune with what Jung calls our ‘shadow self.’ I know it’s there, but I don’t fear it—it’s part of who I am, and it colors my creativity. That’s why my humor and outlook on life are what they are. As painful as it is to lose the people I love, I’m also so happy to have found them in the first place. So it’s basically the dichotomy of love and life.
