“Slipping Away” is a soulful masterpiece from LEISURE (a talented band from New Zealand) that plays with pop, psychedelia, and r&b sounds. When I first listened to this song, I felt like I was in a trance because of how smooth and mesmerizing the production is.
The beautiful rhythm from the drums and bass guitar combined with the sweet electric guitar and keyboard melodies are perfection. On top of that, the heavenly background vocals mix with the production perfectly to create that other-wordly psychedelic effect.
This is a song you definitely want to play during any summer weather activity; including road trips with the windows down and picnics. The vibes are too immaculate.
On top of the beautiful production, the lead vocals throughout the song are absolutely killer. During the verses, the lead singer gives us some soft, smooth vocals that fit the chill and trippy production. But, during the hook, the lead singer switches to a deeper and soulful voice that hits me right in the chest.
Overall, “Slipping Away” is straight heat! From the colorful and smooth production to the passionate vocals, this song is an absolute masterpiece. I will be playing this song for many summer activities to come.
