Luxembourg band The Cookie Jar Complot in the musicto spotlight
Luxembourg songwriting duo, Sven Schmeler and Gilles Glesener founded their band The Cookie Jar Complot in 2020. They released their first EP, Cavier Capital, in 2021, and performed live shows with Philipp Colling on bass and Miko Buraczyk on guitar. In studio, the duo has been hard at work creating more great instrumental post to math rock. Their most recent 2022 single “Cookies” struck a chord with curator Otis Galloway when he was listening to new artist submissions in our musicto Circle community social network.

For this week’s In the Spotlight feature, musicto curator Otis Galloway’s pick is The Cookie Jar Complot’s ”Cookies”, discovered in the artist submissions section of our musicto community social network. Otis shares his thoughts about this terrific post to math instrumental track:
The Cookie Jar Complot are the first band I’ve ever heard of that hail from Luxembourg, which is kinda cool!
They have an atmospheric, cinematic sound, which is great for driving and/or brooding wistfully.
The track here, Cookies, sounds like it should be on the soundtrack of an indie noir thriller, like something that plays toward the end of the movie. Hopefully, we get to hear more from them..

When this Luxembourg post-rock band submitted their instrumental track “Cookies” to the musicto community, they included some PR media about their band and music:
Drawing from a rich palette of influences, The Cookie Jar Complot also looked to other Luxembourgish acts to find their musical voices.
Both Gilles and Sven have played and written for multiple Luxembourg-based music acts in the past. Teaming up for The Cookie Jar Complot, their aim was to create compelling instrumental music that you can dance to.
The band is currently working on a new EP and their next single, “Anna” will be released on October 31, 2022.
