Most of what I write are love songs, yet the records I’ve published prior to this release have featured mostly songs of spiritual exploration and wonder. On the great adventure toward God, an overwhelming love develops like a raincloud over a desert. These songs are the rain on what used to be the desert of my heart. Half of the revelation is the transformation as a result of giving Love. These songs are an attempt at giving back to what has always been there for me: a Love that is eternal. Sometimes I think I see the world through love songs. It seems to be what comes from my experiences, joyful or sorrowful, bleak or blissed, hopeless or ecstatic, there’s a love song that comes from it. This record, Love For You, is a collection of a few of those moments.
The climb up the mountain seeking the mystery is laced with fear. The fountain is not hidden behind glitter, shine, and all things nice. It is buried in the deepest place. In the darkest caves, trust unfolds a glimmer, the sound of an echo of flowing love, submission to the still small voice, slogging through the aches listening to the silence, hearing in it the beckoning of the Architect of All, a beautiful design appears that is so magnificent that it might be called perfect, in this place the cosmos flip back and the lowest becomes the highest. Blame turns to forgiveness. Sorrow turns to gratitude. The suffering becomes the saving. The broken become the whole. The death becomes the life. The love song becomes all that I have. In that Everlasting Word, we are faint but wonderful vibrations contributing to creation in fulfillment of our responsibility as it was bestowed upon us by the Great Author.
