The hip-hop triad, Injury Reserve, brings the feels with this somber track off their latest EP, Drive It Like It’s Stolen.

Backed by a very stripped back acoustic instrumental, the song begins with Stepa J. Groggs detailing his troubles with trying to find his way in life and his struggles with growing fame. In the second verse, Ritchie with a T steps up and delivers a heartbreaking verse where he is leaving a voicemail message to his dead friend about everything that’s happened since he’s been gone and that everyone on earth still misses him.

This song makes gives off a feeling of loneliness and isolation even if you’re in a room full of people. Even if you can’t relate to the lyrics in this song personally, the song makes you feel as though you know exactly what they’re explaining and you can’t help but feel troubled yourself.

Hayden Schutz - Music to Curator

Hayden Schutz is student from Saskatchewan, Canada. Currently studying at the University of Regina. When he’s not browsing reddit for new music, he’s usually attempting to study, training for track & field or indulging in whatever tv show he’s into that week. As of lately he’s been experimenting with video and photography but nothing that he would consider “professional quality”. Hayden’s been playing guitar since the beginning of high school and singing since he was old enough to understand the words on the radio in mom’s car.
