While former NWA member Ice Cube might be most famous for his game-changing, fiercely political lyricism, his best loved track is without a doubt It Was A Good Day - and not without reason.
Ice Cube penned the track back in 1992 because he wanted to tell the world about all the good times he had (‘I rap all this gangsta stuff—what about all the good days I had?’) and in the process created the ultimate soundtrack for every great day - the veteran rapper himself has even dubbed it his best song.
No matter where you are or what you're doing It Was A Good Day will leave you care-free, and whisk you away to summertime LA with its woozy instrumental and Ice Cube’s tales of a day well spent in the city. It sure sounds like a good day to us, but you know what would have made it better? A barbecue.
