In this short video demonstration, Music to Get Addicted’s Nikola takes you through how to add music to your Instagram story. And if you’re looking for some inspiration for tracks you can be adding once you know how to, be sure to check out his playlist!
Getting set up:
From inside the Instagram app, start off by tapping the camera icon in the top left
Take a picture, or select one from the camera roll on your device
(optional) tap anywhere on the screen to bring up the text editor, and @tag the artist if you want to give them some love. You can change the colour and position of the text to whatever you feel like
(optional) add some hashtags. We used #musicto in ours — check it out if you want to find some amazing music!
Adding the music:
Tap the sticker icon in the top right; it looks like a smiley face with a peely bit at the bottom
Find the music sticker in the list of options that pop up — it has a little sound wave next to it. You can also search for it if it doesn’t show up right away
Search for the name of the artist or track that you want to add (hopefully you’ll have better luck finding what you’re looking for than Nikola did!); the tracks that you see will all be populated from Apple Music, so bear that in mind
Some tracks (if they’re mega popular) will have animated lyrics you can add as an overlay for a bit of extra flair. Others will just have the option of choosing between the album art or a small tab with the artist and song name — it’s up to you to decide which one you want to use based on how you want to present your story!
You can change the lyrics font and colour of the box to match what you’re going for
Finishing touches:
If you want to get really creative, you can tap the smiley icon at the top and scroll through some of the different filter effects
Remember, you can always pinch to resize different elements, and tilt them if you’re feeling swish!
When you’re ready, tap your story in the bottom left to instantly add to your story, or tap send to if you want to send to specific people
Pat yourself on the back, because you’re done!
