Vices – Mothica

Everyone has them, in one way or another. Drinking, Drugs, Binge Eating, etc. are all vices, or wicked habits, that people around the globe take part in.

My Ultimately Alternative Relationship with PJ Harvey – Part 3

I slip out of bed, stagger in the dark, bounce off the door frame to my office, power-up my laptop, stumble to the kitchen, turn on the coffee machine, quickly turn it off, grab a mug from the cupboard, try again.

As much as I’d love to be the kind of person who wakes up beating my chest and singing PJ Harvey’s “Me Jane” to start the day, all I’ve got to motivate me this morning is, “Ahh, coffee.” Which is more than most mornings, at least.

Dissociation – Ajuni

I’m trying to remember the first PJ Harvey album I ever owned and make the mistake of saying it only included three or four tracks, but 4-Track Demos was released in 1993 and this isn’t it…

Mombasa – Foreign/National

My aussie roots seem to be growing into fervent entanglement with some really snazzy australian artists. These roots have wrapped gently around the five-piece band known as Foreign/National. They have been a favorite of mine for quite awhile now and this track in particular keeps me groovin’ even when there is no groove left…

Buffalo – Inner Wave

Warmest of greetings to these five spunky, funky and full of life guys by the names of Pablo Sotelo, Jean Pierre Narvaez, Chris Runners, Elijah Trujillo, and Luis Portillo. Honestly, what first got my attention was their name. Anything wave related peaks my interest no matter the content…
