I stumble into a routine and round the campus until ditching the crutches, preferring to hobble in classes and wince during rugby practices.

I’m up before the others in Maynard Road, in the bathroom and out, dressing to whatever’s on the cassette from the night before. Steve Miller’s my go-to at the moment, so that’s often playing.

Viajamos al año 2006 donde había descubierto una serie de Bandas con este tipo de sonido y estilo, entre ellas estaban The Fray, The Perishers, Waking Ashland, entre las mas conocidas, pero siempre hay cierto tipo de grupos que no pretenden ser tan comerciales o populares, uno de ellos se llama Turn Off The Stars, una banda Canadiense integrado por los hermano Michael y Andrew Walker, Max Kennedy y Jake Palahnuk, quienes lanzaron un EP titulado “Everything Is Ok” en 2004 y como su primer sencillo con el cual lograron ser comparados con el tipo de “feeling” de canciones de Lifehouse y Switchfoot, banda Californiana liderada por Jon Foreman a quien le abrieron en Toronto, Ontario…

Moonlight Baby – The Dig

Similar to the new Editors-song  this new tune by The Dig has really captured me. Every time “Moonlight Baby” comes on, I can’t help but skip along. It really makes me happy, even though the lyrics are so sad. Accompanied by a wonderful combination of rhythmic acoustic guitar, a threatening, dark guitar lick and vivacious synthesizers, the song grooves as singer David Baldwin says farewell to his one true love.

I’m always happier when the artist of the track of the week is from Brazil, or when it’s a woman. When it’s both, I’m twice happier!

And that’s the case here: Tatiana Bispo is a rapper, singer and songwriter from São Paulo whose work, either solo or when collaborating with other artists, is definitely worth a listen.

Electric Guest dropped a stellar debut album, “Mondo,” in 2012, then finally followed up with their second album, “Plural,” in 2017. It’s another solid album, and “Dear to Me” is not only my favorite song from it, it’s probably my favorite song from 2017 as a whole.
