Beyrut çıkışlı bağımsız topluluk son yıllarda şarkılarıyla olduğu kadar politik tavırları, LGBT hakları konusundaki duruşları, ırkçılığa ve dini radikalizme karşı pozisyonlarıyla da  oldukça dikkat çekiyor.

Young Blood – The Districts

Bands like the Districts only come around once in a long time. Powerful guitars, great vocals, strong bass to bring it all together, hard hitting drums. The song, Young Blood, being almost 9 minutes long, surprisingly feels like it should be longer. The song has a great mixture of tempo change, build ups, and crazy guitar solos. Must listen.

24K – Mo Vibez

This track is one of the wonkiest beats I’ve ever heard. For an instrumental to amaze me it must have two things: unique sound design and BOUNCE. This track excels tremendously in both!

Speaking Gently – BadBadNotGood

Let’s talk about the Toronto based band Badbadnotgood. You’ve definitely heard them even if you didn’t realize it. They’ve worked with pretty much every big name artist. Kaytranada, Tyler The Creator, Daniel Caesar, Kali Uchis and even the Wu Tang Clan. These four Toronto boys have been busy pretty much since 2012 as they gained popularity being the go to guys when it comes to authentic jazz or R&B…

I was just minding my business, going about my day when this track submission showed up in my inbox and made my week. It had me within the first 15 seconds with its fun beat, groovy bassline, and soulful, funky vocals. It’s one of those songs that will have you dancing in your car and will most likely be stuck in your head the rest of the day. And really, what more do you want from your morning tunes?

With his new album “Günaşığı”, I started listening to Ahmet Ali Arslan. The first thing I realized in his songs was the sound of “bendir”, my favorite instrument. As the music proceeded, the clarinet blew my mind. The delicacy of it was out of this planet. With familiar sounds of “İncesaz” and “Erkan Oğur” Ahmet Ali Arslan was now in my radar.
