This track by acclaimed producer Stephen Ellison, better known as Flying Lotus, with genius Kendrick Lamar, is a single from the 2014 album "You're Dead!" The title comes from the desire of Ellison and collaborator Thundercat, an amazing bassist and producer in his own right, to create music that comes so hard that it just kills you when you hear it.
It stands alone instrumentally as a mind-expanding journey through jazz, electronic, break beats, and more, but Kendrick's rhythmically and conceptually acrobatic raps on it take it to that next level:
"They say that Heaven's real
Analyze my demise, I say I'm super anxious
Recognize I deprive this feeling and then I embrace it"
Along with the musical journey this track takes, the lyrical perspective of an out-of-body experience and meditations on life and death will leave any daily troubles far behind you.
