Music to Save a Lost Soul is thrilled to add Bond Villain to the playlist this week. “Let Me Go” was submitted via our landing page and it was a sonic delight that felt like finding buried treasure! This tune is reminiscent of the mellow style from Panic! At the Disco’s “Death of a Bachelor” album, and some of the a capella operatic stylings of Queen and Freddie Mercury… definitely made for this list.

His voice is always emotionally charged and powerful. Amy Winehouse would have been 34 years old this year… a life cut way too short. I will admit that when she was alive, I didn’t pay much attention to her music. I know… that’s a tragedy in itself, but why not? Through the media, all I heard about her was that she was a drug addict singing about not wanting to go to rehab. That seemed ridiculous to me at the time, so I missed out on some soulful and powerful music… but not for long!

Maynard Keenan brings the same energy and heart to this song as he does to some of the harder hitting tunes he’s well-known for with A Perfect Circle, or Tool. What can I say? I miss Chris Cornell. I know I’m not alone in that sentiment. His passing affected me in a way that I never saw coming. I had no desire to sing or play a guitar for 3 weeks… that’s the tremendous amount of loss that I felt, and that’s how I know his music belongs here.
