Most of us millenials (though I’m on the older end of the spectrum) recognize this tune from popular television show “The Wonder Years”. So while I think of Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper when I hear this song, I also think of how awkward my own childhood moments sometimes were. Thankfully, I had steadfast friends that were just as awkward as I was in the late 80’s - early 90’s. We all had missing front teeth and/or unfortunate haircuts… the joys of growing up.
While this song is originally written by The Beatles, for the non-millennials familiarity, Joe Cocker’s version is a bit slower and a heck of alot more soulful. When Joe kicks it into high gear, you can feel it in your heart. Plus, he’s got Jimmy Page on guitar… the combination here is star studded and was destined to be gold! Feel like YouTubing “The Wonder Years” episodes yet? I’ll leave you with the kind of wisdom gained from Googling quotes from the show:
"Some people pass through your life and you never think about them again. Some you think about and wonder what ever happened to them. Some you wonder if they ever wonder what happened to you. And then there are some you wish you never had to think about again. But you do."

Named after Belinda Carlisle, solo artist and lead singer for The Go-Gos, making music has always been second nature to Belinda M. Growing up in a household that was largely influenced by Filipino culture, it was impossible for her to avoid belting out a few tunes into a karaoke mic at an early age. After her parents discovered she could play piano by ear at age 4, lessons promptly began. She later started writing poetry and playing guitar, which eventually lead to her becoming a singer/songwriter.
For Belinda, writing and listening to music has always been an essential creative outlet and place of solace. She released her debut EP, “I’m Not Broken” in October 2016, and continues to write and release new music. Her lyrics have been recognized by “American Songwriter Magazine” and her music is featured on the award-winning “Women Of Substance Radio and Podcast.” Check out Belinda’s music and learn more at www.belindammusic.com
