Terk etmedi sevdan beni
Aç kaldım, susuz kaldım gecelerce

Geceler geceler

Yastığımda, düşümde, içimdesin
Bir hain bıçak gibi kalbimdesin
Dermanı yoktur bilirim

Tütünsüz, uykusuz kaldım
Terk etmedi sevdan beni
Aç kaldım, susuz kaldım gecelerce

Geceler geceler

Yastığımda, düşümde, içimdesin
Bir hain bıçak gibi kalbimdesin
Dermanı yoktur bilirim."

Fikret Kizilok was one of the most sophisticated and highly respected musicians of his time. He was also a man of thought. What changed his life was a trip to Anatolia. In Sivas, he met Asik Veysel(highly praised poet/troubadour) and as a result started playing baglama. The partnership of these two was turned into a father-son relationship in time, and when Aşık Veysel lost his life on March 21, 1973; Kizilok broke his baglama at Veysel's grave by saying, "My master died, no fingers giving life to it anymore."

Ahmed Arif's (Anatolian poet) "Sevdan Beni" poem was used in the lyrics and it was composed by Fikret Kizilok. It contains intense melancholy. This song is so special that it can not be excluded from the playlist.

Do you know?
Do you know?
Your love hasn't left me
I was hungry and thirsty night after night

Nights, nights

You are in my pillow, in my dream, you are in me
You are in my heart like a betrayer knife
There is no cure at all, I know

I was out of tobacco, I was sleepless
Your love hasn't left me
I was hungry and thirsty night after night

Nights, nights

You are in my pillow, in my dream, you are in me
You are in my heart like a betrayer knife
There is no cure at all, I know."
