One word to describe this song…. “magical”. I mean c’mon, the strings are immediately alluring to the soul. A Jacksons gem, composed by the legendary Gamble and Huff of Philadelphia International. This single comes from the album The Jacksons released in 1976. There is a distinct soulful sound Gamble and Huff created, naming them the architects of the Philly Soul Sound. That sound included glossy orchestrations; guitars that played glistening octaves or rhythmic chords; jazzy vibes, and memorable vocals and harmonies. Now if you ask me, all those elements are ingredients to warm the soul; and that’s why this classic is this week’s pick!
Perfectly soulful for “Warm the Soul”, the melody and lyrics are ever so lifting to the spirit. This track speaks of love, unity and togetherness, a song with beautiful lyrics like, “cause we can help each other to overcome, we can do it now, live together underneath the sun” will always be a fit for this list! From the very beginning you will be drawn in with those soft strings, followed by guitar rhythms, gliding right to the Jacksons soft vocals. This song is one my personal favorites of Michael’s ability to get lost in the emotion, leading with those signature runs (especially that last two minutes) LOL.
So go ahead and let me show you the way to this little gem, I promise you wont be disappointed!
