Watching The Stars, the fourth single taken from Afro-dub warriors Soothsayers’ latest album, Tradition, a more mellow and soulful side of the band, to complement their often strident, politically assertive style. It was co-written by singer Julia Biel (a MOBO and BBC Jazz Award nominee, among other plaudits and recognition worldwide) with her partner - and Soothsayers band leader - Idris Rahman. With flavours of jazz and soul dancing atop the dub foundations, and characteristically alluring Soothsayers horn riffs, it’s a compellingly beautiful and bittersweet song, a couple of remixes are included and we’re is loving the dub version.
