Another hectic holiday season is wrapped up and we continue onward to 2018. The start of a new year brings hope… Hope that this year will be better than the last.  But that hope doesn’t just come from the clock striking midnight, it comes from within. This is my gift to you, to recover from all the stresses of 2017 and let hope into your heart: A smooth and sultry tune by Brenden McPeek.

Brenden McPeek can also be heard on fellow Lost Soul playlister, D Mills’ album “The Recital”, as one of many talented collaborators. He describes the meaning of his song “There Is Hope”:

“I wrote this song a while back, and when I did I had other people and other circumstances in mind. I wrote this song to encourage, I wrote this song to inspire, I wrote this song to give hope to anybody who needed it. As I began to record and perform this song I realized, I needed it. Even today as I write this, I am aware of the fact that I need it. Hope…”

Sometimes we do things for others, to give them hope, and we are reminded that we, ourselves, need it as well.  Here’s to a joyful and soulful 2018!

Belinda M. - Music to Curator

Named after Belinda Carlisle, solo artist and lead singer for The Go-Gos, making music has always been second nature to Belinda M. Growing up in a household that was largely influenced by Filipino culture, it was impossible for her to avoid belting out a few tunes into a karaoke mic at an early age. After her parents discovered she could play piano by ear at age 4, lessons promptly began.  She later started writing poetry and playing guitar, which eventually lead to her becoming a singer/songwriter.

For Belinda, writing and listening to music has always been an essential creative outlet and place of solace. She released her debut EP, “I’m Not Broken” in October 2016, and continues to write and release new music. Her lyrics have been recognized by “American Songwriter Magazine” and her music is featured on the award-winning “Women Of Substance Radio and Podcast.” Check out Belinda’s music and learn more at
