Often times we look outward for comfort and peace during times of distress. Sometimes we seek it from our loved ones, a therapist, or even a kind stranger in a coffee shop that’s willing to listen...
Other times we seek it through movies, books, or music, as a way of distracting ourselves from thinking about what has got us down, or as a way to make us feel like someone else has felt our pain and we're not alone. What we don’t always consider is that we have the power to find peace within our own selves. The ultimate goal is to have our external comforts support our internal peace.
“Be Still” by Karyn Ann is another wonderful submission that resonates with the underlying purpose of Music to Save a Lost Soul. It’s a beautiful song that reminds us to self-reflect, acknowledge truth, and heal ourselves from within. Karyn describes her song as
“a choral-filled ballad that soulfully soars, serving as a reminder to us all to take a minute to find a moment of peace.”

Named after Belinda Carlisle, solo artist and lead singer for The Go-Gos, making music has always been second nature to Belinda M. Growing up in a household that was largely influenced by Filipino culture, it was impossible for her to avoid belting out a few tunes into a karaoke mic at an early age. After her parents discovered she could play piano by ear at age 4, lessons promptly began. She later started writing poetry and playing guitar, which eventually lead to her becoming a singer/songwriter.
For Belinda, writing and listening to music has always been an essential creative outlet and place of solace. She released her debut EP, “I’m Not Broken” in October 2016, and continues to write and release new music. Her lyrics have been recognized by “American Songwriter Magazine” and her music is featured on the award-winning “Women Of Substance Radio and Podcast.” Check out Belinda’s music and learn more at www.belindammusic.com
