A methodically slow swell of keys that float angelically behind a cinematic, ominous string section. Roll the percussive crescendo….the curtain explodes open and BLAM!!! you’re in.

“Here” may be one of the strongest opening songs on a debut album I’ve ever experienced. Jon Crosby, the mastermind behind VAST, is essentially screaming out to the universe “I’m fuckin’ HERE!”

Fusing emotive vocals, punching guitar riffs, rumbling percussive blows, and a VAST array of samples, this song a mammoth of an opener.

Shame. Hate. Lies. Love. Fear. We all experience this stuff, right? What we deem as reality can be quite perplexing. While flummoxed by the nature of humanity, Jon does know one thing…

“All I know is that
I'm here drifting
Somewhere in the vast
Somewhere in eternity
And
I never want to leave”
